Just office Timeline

Just Office Limited was established in 2001 by co-directors Mark Rostock and Andy Unstead after the demise of the national stationery company that they had both been working for. In true entrepreneurial spirit and with only 3-4 days notice, Andy and Mark quickly set-up a bank account, wholesaler trading account and a crude back office system in readiness….Just Office was born!

Although we are not a family run business Mark and Andy the directors have known each other since they were at primary school aged 9 and have grown up together being best buddies. There is not a lot that they don’t know about each other. They actually started out in the industry almost at the same time with Mark getting a job first back in 1987 at a local office products shop called Barnstaple Office Equipment and Andy joining him in 1988.

Once up and running Mark and Andy quickly hired Sharon, Jo and Mike, 3 key members of our current team who help to drive the company ethos, which is to provide competitive value for money and an un-rivaled level of customer service to everyone.

Trading initially from Andy’s office at home, the company gained momentum and continued to grow through competitive pricing and through a very hands-on approach to looking after our customers.

Following a couple of moves due to expansion, the company settled on the Roundswell Business Park and now employs 6 full-time and 2 part-time staff members.

At Just Office we are proud to say that some of our customers have been with us since the get go. Some of those early customers may remember a very popular promotional activity that involved a giant red mascot called ‘dammit’. The team promises not to bring that one back.

In 2011, Just Office was awarded the industry’s highest accolade for marketing at the annual BOSS awards ceremony beating off competition from Viking, Office Depot and Lyreco as well as one of the UK’s largest independent dealers in the process. They were also runners up in the ‘Dealer Excellence’ award category in the same year, all very impressive achievements for a business that also find the time to ensure we support our local community and charities.

Today at Just Office we have a customer base that ranges from sole traders through to corporate organisations. At the heart of this growth we still live by our company vision, which is to ensure that our customers feel like we care about them and that the fact that they choose to partner with us is not taken for granted. We very much appreciate all of our customers and the fact that they support a local company. We like to go the extra mile at Just Office and surprise our customers with the level of our service.
